SUMMARY:NICU Heart to Heart Service Project
DESCRIPTION:A unique program at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital is helping premature or critically ill newborns create healthy bonds with their mothers – while still in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).   \nIn the first few days or weeks of life\, babies in the NICU are separated physically from their mothers while nursing staff provides round-the-clock care. \nThe Heart to Heart program uses small pieces of fabric\, sewn in the shape of a heart\, to transfer the mother’s scent to the baby’s crib or isolette for bonding. \n \nPlease read more about the program click here: \nMcDougal Sewing will be helping with this worthy undertaking this year. We will be taking finished hearts at any of our three locations listed below from September 1st until November 13th. \nWe will only be taking finished hearts. These hearts will then be delivered to Donna\, who will be taking them to hospitals that need them. \nYou may need to enlarge the template to 130% on some printers. \nInstruction: NICU-Heart-to-Heart-Instructions \nFor every 5 finished Hearts donated\, your name will be put into a drawing for a Floriani Color\nSpectrum Thread Set with 120 colors of 1000m spools of Floriani Poly thread and 10 spools of Floriani Stabilizer!
