SUMMARY:Rope Basket Class (Open to Public)
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to use cotton or cotton blend clothesline to make platters\, purses or baskets! We’ll start with a coaster and move on to a large basket! Those who have embroidery machines will design the bottom with embroidery and those with regular machines will do applique. \nPre-requisites: You must know how to use your sewing machine. This is not a beginner class.  Your machine must be in good working order before class and please bring all power cords\, foot controller and regular Z-Z foot along with all supplies on the supply list. We do have needles and thread\, pressure feet and clips at our store if needed. \nSupply List: \n\n1/4″ x 200ft (0.6cm x 60.8m) of multipurpose 100% cotton or cotton blend sash cord or rope- please bring extra to practice with and make a coaster\, just 3-4 yards extra will do. You can get the clothesline rope at most Walmarts\, Targets\, HEB\, or Amazon.\nScotch tape\n1/2 to 1 meter or yard of fabric cut into 1″ bias fabric strips. You do not have to wrap rope in fabric.\ntape measure\nlots of thread and bobbins with the color of choice. I use all-purpose thread. I’d wind about 5   bobbins before class. I also chose a color that matched the rope\, but you can use a contrasting thread.\nsewing pins – just a few\nsewing machine in good working order and all power cords.\nRegular pressure foot.\nDenim size 14-16 needles or Microtex size 14-16 needles. One full pack of 5\nscissors – fabric scissors and thread scissors.\nClips to keep fabric on rope\, if you choose to add fabric.

SUMMARY:Introduction to Bagmaking Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join Bernadette Fegles and learn the basic concepts of bag making\, common terminology and acronyms. We’ll talk about machine choices\, fabric choices\, thread choices\, and needle choices. We’ll learn about common interfacing types\, zippers\, and hardware. \nThis class is for intermediate sewers with their own machines. \n$20 cash only kit fee the day of class paid to the teacher. \n  \nBernadette’s voyage into all things creative began when her mother taught her how to sew\, hand embroider\, and even knitting and crocheting. \nEventually\, she decided to learn how to make bags after having a difficult time finding a bag that had all the features she wanted. Thus began her jaunt into bag making and designing and she hasn’t looked back!
