DESCRIPTION:Let’s learn how to Free Motion in a unique and very old technique called Thread Painting. My Mother taught me how to make a bird when I was a little girl on a Singer Blackhead! \nFirst of all\, there is no right or wrong way of thread painting! (Quilt Police: please read this again!) Thread painting is pretty much drawing with threads and fabrics. It is about your personal preferences\, about density\, light and shadow\, colors and texture… it is pretty much about you being in control of how the thread moves across the canvas of your fabric.  You are the Artist and your sewing machine is your  tool. \n It’s also a really fun and forgivable technique\, an awesome way to practice free-motion quilting without the pressure of practicing free-motion quilting. \nThe Fabric Kit is included in your Class fee. \n\nFabric kit– 2 pieces of Batik fabric cut in 8” X 8” hexagons. \n\n3 pieces of Stitch N Ditch stabilizer- 10” X 10”\n1 piece of 9” X 9” batting\n1 piece of 8” X 8” muslin with leaf patterns drawn on it for practice.\n\n\n\n\nSupply list for you to bring: *can purchase at the store if needed that day.\n\n*5 spools of rayon or cotton thread \n\n1 spool medium green and 1 spool dark green\n1 spool dark brown and 1 of medium brown\n1 spool mustard yellow \n1 spool yellow gold\n\n\n *Quilters gloves\n*Free motion spring foot that works on your machine- If we don’t have in stock we may need to order one for your machine so please give us at least 7 days to special order. DESCRIPTION:This advanced embroidery class will show how to do the latest technique- All Fabric Embroidery. \nThis technique allows you to connect or position certain types of designs so your pants\, table-runner or fabric piece looks like one piece of embroidered fabric! Great way to design your own fabric panels and use for home dec\, clothing or quilting. \nYou can bring your embroidery machine with a hoop at least  180 x 130 or 5″ x 7″. Smaller hoop sizes will not work. My Mother taught me how to make a bird when I was a little girl on a Singer Blackhead! \nFirst of all\, there is no right or wrong way of thread painting! (Quilt Police: please read this again!) Thread painting is pretty much drawing with threads and fabrics. It is about your personal preferences\, about density\, light and shadow\, colors and texture… it is pretty much about you being in control of how the thread moves across the canvas of your fabric.  You are the Artist and your sewing machine is your  tool. \n It’s also a really fun and forgivable technique\, an awesome way to practice free-motion quilting without the pressure of practicing free-motion quilting. \n  Kit Includes:  All Fabric\, stabilizer and batting used. One pair of quilting gloves. \nSupply list for you to bring: *can purchase at the store if needed that day. \nFive spools of a Rayon or cotton thread in browns\, greens and yellow. Any long thin rectangle hoop that you have that’s taller than it is wider. Ex.- 360X260\, 240×150 \n2. We’ll be talking about some good endless lace designs\, but \nbring a few that you think will make good endless lace. Border designs are a good start. \n3. There are placement technique\, software techniques\, hooping technique’s\, and a fabric alteration or two in this class that will make your neckline stunning! \nThis is a hands-on class\, but if you don’t want to bring your machine you can watch and learn. A ready-to-wear top or a pre-cut top front from a pattern you’re making. DESCRIPTION:Thread Painting with Decorative Stitches \nLet’s learn how to Free Motion in a unique and very old technique called Thread Painting. My Mother taught me how to make a bird when I was a little girl on a Singer Blackhead! This year we will be using some of our decorative stitches along with the Echo Quilting presser foot to create texture. \n Thread painting is pretty much drawing with threads and yarns. It is about your personal preferences\, about density\, light and shadow\, colors and texture… it is pretty much about you being in control of how the thread moves across the canvas of your fabric.  You are the Artist and your sewing machine is your tool. \nPre-requisite: This is not a Beginner Class. You must be familiar with how to thread your machine and be comfortable using it. The machine must be in good working order prior to class. No refunds if your machine does not work the day of class. \nFee includes Kit with fabric\, batting\, stabilizer and use of different shiny threads and variety of yarns to couch. \nSupply list: You bring: \n1. Machine in good working order with all electrical cords and foot pedal. \n2. The Echo quilting foot to fit your machine. * We have these in stock at McDougals for some models. \n 3. Dark sewing thread in bobbin- pre-wound to full. (not shiny) \n 4. New size 80/12 or 90/14 needle- universal or embroidery. \n 5. Small scissors for thread cutting. \n 6. Stiletto or chop stick or skewer. \n 7. Dark marking pen to draw a trunk outline.
