DESCRIPTION:I had seen and admired the beautiful and colorful pictures and wanted to try to make a jelly roll rug for myself! I remember my Mom making them out of scraps and using the rug in the kitchen. A jelly roll rug is just that – a rug made from a jelly roll of fabrics! The supply list below is for a 33″ x 44″ rug\, but if you want to go smaller or do a finished placemat or two in our class\, bring less strips. \nSupply List: We will not have time to finish the rug in a 3 hour class\, but you can get a good start! \n\n2 jelly roll packs will make a rug about 30″ X 44″ or pre-cut 21/2″ strips of fabric.\n3 packages pre cut batting at 2-1/2″ or about 65 yards of 2-1/2″ cut batting for a 30″ X 44″ rug.\nThread to coordinate. Three – Four spools of cotton or cotton/poly or Poly thread for top and bobbin. \nSewing machine complete with regular Z-Z pressure foot. If you have a walking foot please bring it. We do sell these if needed.\nExtra bobbins. Wind about 5-6 bobbins with the same thread you’ll use on top.\nSmall iron & small iron mat if you have one. We do have irons and iron boards in the room to use.\n2 packages of 90/14 Microtex or 90/14 or 100/16 Denim needles.\nExtension table\, Sew Steady Table or empty USPS boxes to put around sewing machine area to keep rug level while sewing.\nBasic sewing supplies including clips\, straight pins\, fabric marker or chalk\, and small ruler.

DESCRIPTION:  \nLarger projects require stability and controlled handling to maintain accuracy across larger or longer areas. Knowing what hoops to use and what positioning tools will help you move the fabric easily and accurately are a few points we will touch on in this hands-on technique class.  You do not have to bring your machine to this class\, you can just take notes. If you do decide to bring your machine\, make sure it’s in good working order. This is a technique class\, so you will not completely stitch your entire sashing \nSupply List: \nA long piece of fabric cut as you would sashing for a quilt or runner. Aqua Vanish Stabilizer if you are stitching on fabric only. If stitching on fabric with batting in the middle\, no stabilizer is required. \nAn Endless hoop or magnetic hoop. We do have these for sale for Viking and Pfaff and Brother. ( some styles may have to be special ordered) \nCotton Thread to work with your fabric in top and bobbin. \nAn endless design suitable for sashing or a quilt design sized for sashing already on your machine or a USB. A printed template of this design in the size you’ll be using. \n  \n
