DESCRIPTION:Open to the Public \nCost: $45 for the Public.  If you bought your coverstitch serger at McDougal Sewing\, just show your purchase receipt to the teacher the day of class\, only good for the original purchaser of serger. \nJoin McDougal Sewing Center to learn how to use your Coverstitch Serger\, like the JUKI 1700QVP or use the Coverstitch part of your 5 thread serger\, just the Viking S25. You’ll learn how to thread for a 2 needle coverstitch\, a single needle chain stitch\, and a 5 thread stitch\, if applicable. We’ll also go thru some handy tips on how to hem knits and how to end a coverstitch hem when cutting off a T-shirt. \nThis class does NOT show you how to use the overlock part of your serger\, if applicable. Only one person per serger is allowed and must be 18 or over. \nSupply list: \n\nYour serger in good working order with all accessories needed to do a coverstitch on your serger.\nSerger cone thread only\, in any color\, to use in class. SUMMARY:Beginner's Quilting II
DESCRIPTION:This class will make a table topper.  There will be kits (different colors available as to what you like) you can order for $35.00.  You will need to order the kit as soon as you enroll and allow two weeks prior to class for delivery.  These kits will have everything but the batting to make the table runner.  Batting will be furnished with your enrolment fee.  The kits will also be pre-cut to eliminate additional time in class so that we can make a project that the time will allow. \nBeginner II Quilting Class Supply List \nInstructor: Shari Medford \n \nBio\nQuilting is my hobby and my passion.  I started my journey in 2002 when I decided to accompany a group of quilters on a Shop Hop (Shop Hop is organized by several quilt stores in the area to promote their stores and of course specials on all purchases).\n\nThat was the start\, and from there I proceeded to take classes to learn all I could.  Totally fascinated with taking fabric\, cutting it into strips\, squares and piecing it back together making beautiful blocks to form a pattern for a quilt.  So\, the journey began.\n\nMy first stop was McDougal’s Sewing Center (my mother’s Kenmore 1965 sewing machine was a bit heavy to take to classes) and my new sewing machine was my first investment.  Proceeded trading and upgrading two more times.  Now I enjoy passing along my passion to the next hobbyist. ‘It is hard to believe that I have been quilting for 20 years.  I will say that each day I learn more about this wonderful hobby called quilting.  It will be my pleasure to take you along this journey with me.
