DESCRIPTION:This advanced embroidery class will show how to do the latest technique- All Fabric Embroidery. \nThis technique allows you to connect or position certain types of designs so your pants\, table-runner or fabric piece looks like one piece of embroidered fabric! Great way to design your own fabric panels and use for home dec\, clothing or quilting. \nYou can bring your embroidery machine with a hoop at least  180 x 130 or 5″ x 7″. Smaller hoop sizes will not work. DESCRIPTION:Let’s learn how to Free Motion in a unique and very old technique called Thread Painting. My Mother taught me how to make a bird when I was a little girl on a Singer Blackhead! \nFirst of all\, there is no right or wrong way of thread painting! (Quilt Police: please read this again!) Thread painting is pretty much drawing with threads and fabrics. It is about your personal preferences\, about density\, light and shadow\, colors and texture… it is pretty much about you being in control of how the thread moves across the canvas of your fabric.  You are the Artist and your sewing machine is your  tool. \n It’s also a really fun and forgivable technique\, an awesome way to practice free-motion quilting without the pressure of practicing free-motion quilting. \n  Kit Includes:  All Fabric\, stabilizer and batting used. One pair of quilting gloves. \nSupply list for you to bring: *can purchase at the store if needed that day. \nFive spools of a Rayon or cotton thread in browns\, greens and yellow. Earthy tones would work great. \n\n\n\n*Free motion spring foot that works on your machine- If we don’t have in stock we may need to order one for your machine so please give us at least 7 days to special order. DESCRIPTION:MASTER TECHNIQUE CLASS FOR ALL SEWING MACHINES SOLD AT MCDOUGAL SEWING \nThis session will be on Quilting techniques including free motion and piecing and Heirloom techniques including twin needle\, wing needle sewing. The kit for this class will include all fabrics.  Kit fee for this class will be $10\, cash only. \nSpecialty Supply list for Quilting and Heirloom sewing. \n\nPlease see the PDF attached to this class for Basic supplies.\nQuilting – Presser feet\n\n¼” foot with guide\, even feed or walking foot\, free motion spring foot for your machine\, Stitch in ditch foot and quilting bar. If you don’t have these feet\, we may have some you can borrow for class. The only foot that can’t be borrowed is the walking foot.\nNeedle – Quilting needle size 70/10 or 80/11 and 90/14\n\n\nHeirloom –\n\nTwo twin needles- sizes 2.0 or 2.5 and 1.6. Wing needle size 100/16.  If you don’t have the needles you will have to purchase them the day of class.\nPresser Feet – Candle wicking\, Spanish hemstitch\, Pin tuck foot. SUMMARY:Advanced Serger Techniques-Part 2
DESCRIPTION:Free to qualified Sergers purchased at McDougal Sewing\nLet’s learn how to use some of the many stitches our sergers do and how the optional pressure feet help our creativity. Techniques shown will be Ruffling\, Decorative edges- 3 thread an rolled edge\, Pin tucks and Super stretch stitch.  \nThis is a hands-on intermediate class. You must know how to thread your serger and feel comfortable using it. \nSupply List: Bring your serger\, in good working order and all attachments that came with it. Have your serger threaded with 4 spools of white/cream thread\, 2 new needles and a small pair of scissors. If you have the gathering foot\,  and a blind hem foot please bring them for this class. \nFabric and specialty tools may be provided.  Some attachments will be shared during class when needed. $10 kit fee\, cash only\, due day of class. \nOne person per Serger\, if you need a translator\, please contact Rebecca @ Rebecca.jospeh@mcdougalsewing.com. \n   \nPlease read Class and Refund Policies \n
