Those who have embroidery machines will design the bottom with embroidery and those with regular machines will do applique. \nWe have 2 months of Club to finish\, so no rush! \nSupply List: \n\n1/4″ x 200ft (0.6cm x 60.8m) of multipurpose 100% cotton or cotton blend sash cord or rope- please bring extra to practice with and make a coaster\, just 3-4 yards extra will do.\nScotch tape\n1/2 to 1 meter or yard of fabric cut into 1″ bias fabric strips. Your choice.\ntape measure\nlots of thread and bobbins with the color of choice. I use all-purpose thread. I’d wind about 5   bobbins before class.\nsewing pins – just a few\nsewing machine in good working order and all power cords.\nRegular pressure foot.\nDenim size 14-16 needles or Microtex size 14-16 needles. One full pack of 5\nscissors – fabric scissors and thread scissors.\nClips to keep fabric on rope\, if you choose to add fabric.

Those who have embroidery machines will design the bottom with embroidery and those with regular machines will do applique. \nWe have 2 months of Club to finish\, so no rush! \nSupply List: \n\n1/4″ x 200ft (0.6cm x 60.8m) of multipurpose 100% cotton or cotton blend sash cord or rope- please bring extra to practice with and make a coaster\, just 3-4 yards extra will do.\nScotch tape\n1/2 to 1 meter or yard of fabric cut into 1″ bias fabric strips. Your choice.\ntape measure\nlots of thread and bobbins with the color of choice. I use all-purpose thread. I’d wind about 5   bobbins before class.\nsewing pins – just a few\nsewing machine in good working order and all power cords.\nRegular pressure foot.\nDenim size 14-16 needles or Microtex size 14-16 needles. One full pack of 5\nscissors – fabric scissors and thread scissors.\nClips to keep fabric on rope\, if you choose to add fabric.

You must have taken your basic guide classes and have a basic knowledge of your machine. This is not a novice class.

SUMMARY:Serger 101 (Open to Public)
DESCRIPTION:SERGER 101 – OPEN TO THE PUBLIC\nGet out that serger\, dust it off and learn how to thread it\, and do some basic seams in this 2-hour class. This starter class is for 3/4 thread serging only. If you have a 5 thread serger\, we will not go into 5 threads or cover stitch. \nKIT IS INCLUDED\nSUPPLIES NEEDED:  \n\nPlease bring your serger instruction manual\, all accessories that came with your serger\, extra needles for your serger\, power cord complete\, serger in good working order\, small scissors\, and tweezers. \nYou’ll also need 4 spools of SERGER CONE thread the same colors as the tension knobs: usually red\, yellow\, green\, and blue. \nFabric is provided by the instructor. \nCheck your manual to see if you have needed accessories for class or email rebecca.joseph@mcdougalsewing.com for clarification.\n\nYou must be 18 or over to take this class and only 1 person per serger.\n\nSerger MUST be in good working order.\n\nIf you don’t know if it is or not\, contact Rebecca at Rebecca.joseph@mcdougalsewing.com and she can talk you through this process.  No refunds are given if the serger doesn’t work the day of class.
