SUMMARY:Rope Basket Class (Open to Public)
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to use cotton or cotton blend clothesline to make platters\, purses or baskets! We’ll start with a coaster and move on to a large basket! Those who have embroidery machines will design the bottom with embroidery and those with regular machines will do applique. \nPre-requisites: You must know how to use your sewing machine. This is not a beginner class.  Your machine must be in good working order before class and please bring all power cords\, foot controller and regular Z-Z foot along with all supplies on the supply list. We do have needles and thread\, pressure feet and clips at our store if needed. \nSupply List: \n\n1/4″ x 200ft (0.6cm x 60.8m) of multipurpose 100% cotton or cotton blend sash cord or rope- please bring extra to practice with and make a coaster\, just 3-4 yards extra will do. You can get the clothesline rope at most Walmarts\, Targets\, HEB\, or Amazon.\nScotch tape\n1/2 to 1 meter or yard of fabric cut into 1″ bias fabric strips. You do not have to wrap rope in fabric.\ntape measure\nlots of thread and bobbins with the color of choice. I use all-purpose thread. I’d wind about 5   bobbins before class. I also chose a color that matched the rope\, but you can use a contrasting thread.\nsewing pins – just a few\nsewing machine in good working order and all power cords.\nRegular pressure foot.\nDenim size 14-16 needles or Microtex size 14-16 needles. One full pack of 5\nscissors – fabric scissors and thread scissors.\nClips to keep fabric on rope\, if you choose to add fabric.

Thus began her jaunt into bag making and designing and she hasn’t looked back!

DESCRIPTION:I had seen and admired the beautiful and colorful pictures and wanted to try to make a jelly roll rug for myself! I remember my Mom making them out of scraps and using the rug in the kitchen. A jelly roll rug is just that – a rug made from a jelly roll of fabrics! \nThese rugs are easy but time-consuming. I suggest a glass of wine or hot tea\, some nice music\, or an audible book\, and start creating your own rug! The finished size is about 30″ x 44″ – a great size for in front of your kitchen sink\, bathroom or to make a bold statement at your front door! \nWe’ll start in April with doing a placemat in class. DESCRIPTION:I had seen and admired the beautiful and colorful pictures and wanted to try to make a jelly roll rug for myself! I remember my Mom making them out of scraps and using the rug in the kitchen. A jelly roll rug is just that – a rug made from a jelly roll of fabrics! \nThese rugs are easy but time-consuming. I suggest a glass of wine or hot tea\, some nice music\, or an audible book\, and start creating your own rug! The finished size is about 30″ x 44″ – a great size for in front of your kitchen sink\, bathroom or to make a bold statement at your front door! \nWe’ll start in April with doing a placemat in class. DESCRIPTION:Class is Mac and Windows versions of mySewnet Gold/Platium software.\nWindows and Mac Version\nEmbroidery For Quilters with mySewnet™ Embroidery\nAuthor: Janie Lantz\nQuilting is all the rage across the world\, and many quilters are adding embroidery to their quilt blocks\, then finishing their quilts in the embroidery hoop! Let’s explore techniques for designs to create some unique blocks for a quilt\, and then craft designs to quilt the blocks on our embroidery machines! We’ll utilize multiple elements of the mySewnet™ Embroidery Platinum package\, including Digitizing\, to design embroidery suitable for customizing blocks and then finishing with quilting in the hoop! \nPart 2: Add SuperDesigns via Linking to Digitizing (Platinum Package)\nUsing linking\, we can begin with the Embroidery Module/Application and link to Digitizing\, to make our own unique embroideries\, or to insert Embroidery\, SuperDesigns\, Lettering\, and more. When we close the link\, we can use Quilt Block Wizard/Assistant to quickly add custom quilting. What advantage do you gain by using linking to Insert SuperDesign in the Digitizing Module/Application? Additional precision\, more options for stitches\, fundamental\nability to adjust size\, proportion\, or add/remove objects within the design. \nPart 3: A Technique for Designing Quilting to Custom Fit an Embroidery (Platinum Package)\nAre you interested in a specialty technique to design something in a little different style than the choices in the QuiltBlock Wizard/assistant? Let’s design our own custom quilting stitches by linking to Digitizing from Embroidery! With a few extra steps\, we can still keep the central design element separate from the quilting stitches\, and keep both the quilting design and the embroidery design editable! \nSupplies:\n1. Laptop with Gold or Platinum version- For Part 1- of mySewnet already downloaded and ready to work! An outside mouse if you work better with one.\n2. A basic working knowledge of how your computer works and how to use a mouse and save files to your computer.\n3. Pen/pencil and paper or some way to take notes. You will be getting the step-by-step instructions emailed to you after class\, but sometimes it helps to personalize things.

SUMMARY:Endless Design Techniques with any Hoop Size!
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to use any size hoop to get wonderful endless designs. In this class you’ll be working on a pillowcase that you bring from home to decorate the opening of the case. This Endless Hoop Technique can be used for shower curtains\, bed sheets\, tablecloths and more! The class fee includes the design that you can put in your machine along with a printed template. You MUST have a working knowledge of your machine. \nBasic supply list: \nYour embroidery machine in good working order with all power cords\, attachments and hoop(s). Tear away stabilizer the length of your pillowcase opening plus 6″. If you have an endless hoop for your machine\, bring it and learn how to use! \nA cotton or cotton/poly blend pillow case that has one side ripped open. \nFabric marking pen\, template for hoop if you have one\, (not needed for machines with positioning features)\, Pastel colors of shiny embroidery thread\, 2 pre-wound bobbins or bobbins wound with embroidery bobbin thread on them\, new embroidery needle in machine\, small scissors to snip threads\, Pink Perfection Tape or KK2000 spray or 5-6 straight pins.
