SUMMARY:Beginner's Quilting
DESCRIPTION:In Class\, you will make as many four patch quilt blocks as time allows.  The materials will be provided and blocks retained to donate to a group that makes quilts for kids.  You will be cutting and sewing the pieces together.  This will be the beginning of learning to quilt.  We will take the quilt blocks and arrange them to see the different ways to design the quilt.  I will be demonstrating the way to finish the quilt.  This will be a step-by-step class and sewing at your own pace. \nBeginners-Quilt-Supply-List \nInstructor: Shari Medford \n \nBio\nQuilting is my hobby and my passion.  I started my journey in 2002 when I decided to accompany a group of quilters on a Shop Hop (Shop Hop is organized by several quilt stores in the area to promote their stores and of course specials on all purchases).\n\nThat was the start\, and from there I proceeded to take classes to learn all I could.  Totally fascinated with taking fabric\, cutting it into strips\, squares and piecing it back together making beautiful blocks to form a pattern for a quilt.  So\, the journey began.\n\nMy first stop was McDougal’s Sewing Center (my mother’s Kenmore 1965 sewing machine was a bit heavy to take to classes) and my new sewing machine was my first investment.  Proceeded trading and upgrading two more times.  Now I enjoy passing along my passion to the next hobbyist. ‘It is hard to believe that I have been quilting for 20 years.  I will say that each day I learn more about this wonderful hobby called quilting.  It will be my pleasure to take you along this journey with me.

Serger MUST be in good working order and have all the parts needed to do a cover-stitch. \nNo refunds are given if you don’t have all pieces needed on the day of class. \nPlease check your manual for what is needed for a cover-stitch. \nSupply List:\n\nSerger in good working order with all power cords\, foot pedal\, and instruction manual.\nALL extra cover-stitch parts needed to do a cover-stitch on your serger if it does 2/3/4/5 & Cover-stitch stitches.\nBring 4 spools of regular serger cone thread\, any color(s). Only bring serger cone thread\, not sewing spool thread.\nAll accessories that came with your serger\, including extra new needles\, screwdriver to remove needles\, small scissors to cut thread.\nPlease remember no refunds are given if you come to class without all the parts to do a cover-stitch.
