DESCRIPTION:SERGER 101 – OPEN TO THE PUBLIC\nGet out that serger\, dust it off and learn how to thread it\, and do some basic seams in this 2-hour class. This starter class is for 3/4 thread serging only. If you have a 5 thread serger\, we will not go into 5 threads or coverstitch. \nSUPPLIES NEEDED: Please bring your serger instruction manual\, all accessories that came with your serger\, extra needles for your serger\, power cord complete\, serger in good working order\, small scissors\, and tweezers. You’ll also need 4 spools of SERGER CONE thread the same colors as the tension knobs: usually red\, yellow\, green\, and blue. Fabric is provided by the instructor. Check your manual to see if you have needed accessories for class or email rebecca.joseph@mcdougalsewing.com for clarification. \nYou must be 18 or over to take this class and only 1 person per serger.\n\nSerger MUST be in good working order.\nIf you don’t know if it is or not\, contact Rebecca at Rebecca.joseph@mcdougalsewing.com and she can talk you through this process.  No refunds are given if the serger doesn’t work the day of class.

DESCRIPTION:Let’s put our Wonky Texture Quilt together! \nSupply list and Pre- Cutting List \nFeet: ¼” foot\, Stitch n Ditch\, Button Sewing foot\, Quilt Binding foot or store-\nbought bias binder wide width\, walking foot or even feed foot\, some\nmachines have the IDT on machine. \nSupplies: Cotton batting (54”X74”) or the size of your top. The 3 yards of\nbacking fabric you bought for the quilt back\, 1/3 yard for binding if you’re\nmaking your own binding. Assorted buttons that have either 2 or 4 holes to\nsew down with foot. I would bring about 10-15 buttons. \nCut: The 3 yards of backing fabric into 2 pieces 44” X 54”\, cut off selvages.\nFrom binding fabric cut 6 pieces 1-3/4” wide X width of fabric. This\nmeasurement is done straight of grain\, not bias.

Each session has been developed to gain familiarity with the basic features/functions of your new machine\, to get you creating quickly. These sessions are our gift to you with the purchase of a new machine from McDougal Sewing Center. \nJoin talented Education Team members for a “get acquainted” new machine mixer. The goal of this session is to provide you with the information and knowledge needed to get the most from your new machine. \nThis class is geared for Computerized Brother\, JUKI and Elna sewing machines.
