DESCRIPTION:If you love fabric\, there’s also a good chance that you love fibers of all kinds—yarns\, novelty threads\, ribbons\, trims\, cords\, etc. Assuming that’s the case and perhaps you have some of those things in your stash\, making your own scarves is a fun way to showcase a medley of those fun fibers. \nPhoto courtesy of Sulky \nSupply list: \n\n50″-60″ long of heavy water soluble stabilizer- Aqua Magic- at least 12″ wide or wider. This stabilizer is going to have a ” heavy\, non-stick feel” to it\, like an interfacing\, NOT TOPPER.\nYarns\, threads\, ribbons\, thin fabric strips\, cords or trims to fill in the scarf. The scarf in the picture is filled with loose threads and lots of stitching!\nDecorative sewing threads to work with your scarf colors. You’ll need to wind a bobbin with the same decorative thread\, so you will need a bobbin for each color change.\nUniversal needle size 80/12 or 90/14\, depending on how you fill your scarf.\nBasic sewing supplies including straight pins.

I remember my Mom making them out of scraps and using the rug in the kitchen. A jelly roll rug is just that – a rug made from a jelly roll of fabrics! The supply list below is for a 33″ x 44″ rug\, but if you want to go smaller or do a finished placemat or two in our class\, bring less strips. \nSupply List: We will not have time to finish the rug in a 3 hour class\, but you can get a good start! \n\n2 jelly roll packs will make a rug about 30″ X 44″ or pre-cut 21/2″ strips of fabric.\n3 packages pre cut batting at 2-1/2″ or about 65 yards of 2-1/2″ cut batting for a 30″ X 44″ rug.\nThread to coordinate. Three – Four spools of cotton or cotton/poly or Poly thread for top and bobbin. \nSewing machine complete with regular Z-Z pressure foot. If you have a walking foot please bring it. We do sell these if needed.\nExtra bobbins. Wind about 5-6 bobbins with the same thread you’ll use on top.\nSmall iron & small iron mat if you have one.
