SUMMARY:Feet Fetish-Thread Painting Fall Leaves on Batik Fabric
DESCRIPTION:Let’s learn how to Free Motion in a unique and very old technique called Thread Painting. My Mother taught me how to make a bird when I was a little girl on a Singer Blackhead! \nFirst of all\, there is no right or wrong way of thread painting! (Quilt Police: please read this again!) Thread painting is pretty much drawing with threads and fabrics. It is about your personal preferences\, about density\, light and shadow\, colors and texture… it is pretty much about you being in control of how the thread moves across the canvas of your fabric.  You are the Artist and your sewing machine is your  tool. \n It’s also a really fun and forgivable technique\, an awesome way to practice free-motion quilting without the pressure of practicing free-motion quilting. \nThere are 2 Kit options for this class. Just let me know which kit you want when I send the reminder email. \n\n$10 kit– 2 pieces of Batik fabric cut in 8” X 8” hexagons. \n\n3 pieces of Stitch N Ditch stabilizer- 10” X 10”\n1 piece of 9” X 9” batting\n1 piece of 8” X 8” muslin with leaf patterns drawn on it for practice.\n\n\n$15 kit\n\nAll of above\n1 pair of quilt gloves\n1 quilting needle to use for the project.\n\n\n\n\nSupply list for you to bring: *can purchase at the store if needed that day.\n\n*5 spools of rayon or cotton thread \n\n1 spool medium green and 1 spool dark green\n1 spool dark brown and 1 of medium brown\n1 spool mustard yellow \n1 spool yellow gold\n\n\n *Quilters gloves- (if you don’t get $15 kit)\n*Free motion spring foot that works on your machine- If we don’t have in stock we may need to order one for your machine so please give us at least 7 days to special order. You MUST have this foot for this technique.\n* Quilting needles- 75/11 or 80/12-(if you don’t get $15 kit)\n* 5 empty bobbins to fill in class with thread you bring.\nSewing machine in good working order\, power cord and foot pedal- we’ll not use our push buttons to run the machine for this technique.
