DESCRIPTION:Mola is a Kuna Indian word for clothing. Traditionally\, panels of elaborately decorated\nfabrics known as molas were incorporated into the front or back of a woman’s blouse.\nToday\, molas are not only created for use in clothing but also as wall art or even as\nlarger quilts.\nTraditional Molas were constructed by hand using a reverse appliqué technique.\nAnywhere from two to seven layers of fabric were stitched together and then sections\nwere cut away at different layers to reveal different colors.\nSupply list:\n● Machine with power cords and pedal in good working order\, basic sewing supplies\n● Appliqué scissors or VERY sharp pointy scissors\, Paper scissors.\n● Heat marker and lite colored chalk and a stiletto or “Purple thing”- something pointy.\n● Appliqué presser foot\, 80/12 universal needle\, Black Rayon or Cotton thread in top and bobbin and a bobbin with white thread in it. \n● Kit fee-$10 paid day of class \nPlease read the Class and Refund Policies before signing up for this class.
