$25.00Advanced Embroidery Techniques – Jeans
In this class we learn how to take apart a pair of jeans to add embroidery up the leg and put them back together. We also learn what designs work best and several ways to place and hoop your chosen designs. You MUST know how to work your machine before class.
This class is a techniques class, so you may want to get started embroidering in class or you may want to bring everything but your machine. You will not be able to finish your jeans in 2 hours, so it’s up to you what you want to bring to class.
Supplies:
Embroidery machine in good working order with power cord and set-up for embroidery. Hoop size depends on your chosen design. Have several design options you may like to try on your jeans for class. It always helps if you can print out a template of 1 or 2 preferred designs for placement.
Embroidery thread in a few colors and embroidery bobbin thread already in your machine. Have a new 90/14 embroidery or Microtex needle in your machine. Stabilizer- cutaway if your jeans have stretch, I used a web mesh cutaway or tearaway for 100% cotton.
Spray adhesive or pink tape, or fabric glue and straight pins and scrap fabric to help hooping if needed. Fabric could be 12″x12″ depending on hoop size. Fabric marker for placement. GOOD seam ripper!
Basic sewing supplies
Jeans- you can have a seam already ripped out or rip in class. Smaller size jeans will need a smaller hoop size.
