$5.00 – $15.00Learn how to use cotton or cotton blend clothesline to make platters, purses or baskets! We’ll start with a coaster and move on to a large basket! Those who have embroidery machines will design the bottom with embroidery and those with regular machines will do applique.
Supply List:
-1/4″ x 200ft (0.6cm x 60.8m) of multi purpose 100% cotton sash cord or rope. Clothesline works well and can be found in different widths and yardage.
-Scotch tape- small piece
-1/2 to 1 meter or yard of fabric cut into 1″ bias fabric strips- this is to decorate the rope
-tape measure- soft one is better
– lots of thread and bobbins with the color of choice. I use all purpose thread
-sewing pins- just 2-3 to get started
-sewing machine
-Denim or Microtex sz. 14 or 16 sewing needles.
-scissors
-clips
– Extension table to keep things flat as you sew.
– quilting gloves help feed the rope.
