McDougals Sewing Center is proud to announce the winners of our service project. We also want to take a moment to say a very special thank you to all of you who donated your time and energy to help make this project a success. We will post pictures of the bags of loves and bibs being received when that process is completed.
Grand prize Winner: – $200 McDougals Gift Card- Connie Hallowell
Bags of Love made out of a sea green heavy cotton. Connie had excellent sewing/finishing skills and an extremely creative use of decorative stitches for the appliqued bear.
Bags of Love winner- $100 McDougals Gift Card- Christine Crabb
Christine used a brightly colored 100% cotton fabric and a watermelon print for the pocket and back of bag in order to “bring of bit of cheerfulness to a child that has had a tough time. I have a close friend whose grandson was delivered to her from CPS with a trash bag with his belongings…I know I wanted to help.”
Pretty Plaid Bib Winner- $100 McDougals Gift Card- Kelly Todd
Kelly used fabrics “from my stash. I wanted to hopefully make something that a senior would enjoy wearing.” Kelly had great finishing and sewing techniques.
Out on the Town Bib Winner- $100 McDougals Gift Card- Pat Whitehead
Pat “wanted to give a senior who might be eating alone an extra bit of cheer during this holiday season.” Pat had very creative use of fabrics and colors as well as some outstanding finishing techniques
