HOUSTON (June 15, 2018) — McDougal Sewing Center at Comicpalooza welcomed a record-breaking crowd of 50,778 attendees over Memorial Day weekend, May 25-27, 2018. McDougal Sewing Center exhibited at the event in partnership with Pfaff and Sew Much Cosplay (RNK Distributing).
By offering a “first aid station” for quick costume repair via sewing machine, we were able to expose sewing and our sewing and embroidery machines and specific costume construction products geared to this fan base of over 51,000 event attendees. The attendees varied from young children to older adults who were all fans or hobbyists in the comic book and fantasy costume space.
In addition, McDougal Sewing Center and Pfaff provided two machines for the Grand prize and Runner-up prize. A young local Houstonian with the cosplay name of Xephyr won the Grand Prize Pfaff Expression 3.5. He was so grateful for the prize and is planning to come in for full lessons and classes.
We are excited to continue to engage our new Cosplay fans with Events, Classes and a Cosplay Cafe that will be introduced soon.
